some might in fact be watching this video right now wondering”why have my Asian genes failed me?”
it’s a bit of a generalized statement or stereotype, but as a whole, there’s definitely some truth to it and we’ll get into why what it is in this video.
malnutrition and starvation is rampant.
but if you look at the asian country, most of which have a much higher standard of living.

when I was trained as a historian,we were taught to think of history as just the story of humankindBut if you think about it,there’s much more to the story
we should trace our history into Deep Time to the information of our tsplanet, our solar system ,even the universe itself.
in this series we’re taking a new look at important eras in human historyby flashing back at key moments,
exploding stars
the clash of continents
secretly shape the story we thought we know
by revealing the surpring links between human history and the deep past
our voyages and battles
driven not only by the decisions we make, but by physics, geology, biology, chemistry,by forces that can be too similar to see,
the only way …is to think in a whole new way.
As I spend some time at home with my family this Christmas season ,I’m reminded yet again how quickly time flies. It’s the end of the year again. Not really sure how that happened .But naturally it gets me thinking about the year I just had and whether or not I liked that year. What are some things that I did well ?What are some things that I want to improve on?And I do really like the direction that my life is going in?And for the most part, probably more than any other late December pondering, that answer is yes.you know,I’m pretty happy with where I’m at right now,but it wasn’t easy to get here. And I remember so many times in my life where that answer was no,where I really don’t like the person that I was when I thought ABOUT it,I really had some deep regrets about the year that I just had.i made some mistakens that I really wanted to correct.i wanted to break some bad habits.I wanted to start new habits. But the problem is it seemed like the same story every year.i didn’t really know where to start/I didn’t really know the secret to getting change to stick,
trying to figure out the magic formula that will help me stick to my goals and truly start a new chapter in my life. But the bottom line is you’re not gonna change a thing if you don’t want to change.if you just feel like you should make a New Year’s resolution,or you want to change some aspect of your life.because somebody told you that it was a good idea, then you kind of defeat yourself before you even start. You need to combine a very strong will to change with a good strategy. And I can’t provide you with that will, but I can provide you with a strategy.I want to cover some things that helped me really transform my life, not in sort of an overnight kind of way,as we’ll go over, but as a consistent mechansim that served me day after day.So that over the course of months,I was in a better position that I was the previous year. And these things that I’m gonna go over, don’t just apply to New Year’s.if you have a strong feeling that there’s something in particular thAT you want to change about your life, then hopefully some of these things that I’m gonna over will help you do just that.So the first thing is to pick one thing to focus on.it’s extremely tempting to try to let your mind run irresponsibly wild with all the things that you want to change about your life,In your mental health, your physical health, your social life, blah bidy, blah bidy, blah. And this is good. This motivation and this drive to improve is extremely useful, but you should dedicate all of this emotion to changing one thing about your life.Later down the line,as this thing becomes a habit,it might only take 30 days for you to have this thing locked in.Then you can think about adding more things.SO what thing do you pick?i think the first thing you should do is write down a list of things that you want to change about your life in several different areas. and be very detailed and specific.Where do you want to be five years from now?wherever do you want to be in your financial life, your social life?
if you were to boil down one of these things into a daily habit that you could implement, what would that look like?An obvious example is if you want to have some ripped beach body and have crazy muscle mass and low body fat, then obviously probably the most important thing that will help you get there is to develop a consistent gym habit. So the actionable process to achieve that hypothetical goal is to go to the gym four or five times a week,or whatever you think works for you.And once you’ve determined what the actionable process to achieve that eventual goal is,it’s really important to reflect on whether or not you are comfortable with doing that process day after day.is this something that is realistic to you?Because this process is what you’re gonna be interacting with 100% of the time.you’re not gonna be interacting with the goal.once you get there, your goal will change. The process itself is what that thing will feel like.it’ll never feel like you are living that goal.you have to learn to fall in love with the process itself.AND that is possible because a lot of that satisfaction comes from the quite understandiwng that you’re trending your life in the direction that you want to trend it in.part of the reason why going to the gym feels so good is because you know that going to the gym is good for you.AND going to the gym, you’re becoming someone you are proud of.you are operating on a day-to -day basis,as a more authentic version of yourself. And the gym specifically feels really good. because of the endorphin rush and the feeling of power you get.when you lift heavy weights.pretty much anybody who’s ever been consistent with the gym knows that they are consistent, not because they’re thinking about this end goal all the time.it’s just because they really like the way going to the gym makes them feel .both physically and mentally and emotionallyit’s just so good for you .This is a big ad for going to the gymif being well-read and well-versed in literature is extremely important to you.and you decide that this is the one thing that you want to work on,you want to read a book a month or whatever, then anybody who’s actually been successful with that will know that the thing that kept them going wasn’t this vague concept of this vague sentiment of getting smarter.they just learn to enjoy reading for what it is.The microcosm of their end goal became the enjoyable thing to interact with.so decide what exactly about your life you want to change.what does that look like specifically? The determine what that thing looks like on a day-to-day basis. Then try to figure out whether or not you’re ready to strap on the boots and do that thing every single day.because that thing is the thing.if you can’t find enjoyment and fulfillment in the daily process of getting to where you want to be in life, then not only are you probably not gonna stick with this change, but your overall just gonna live a less enjoyable life.if everything you do on a day-tp-day basis is just a means to an end, then your life is just a means to an end.
the second point I want to make is that focusing yourself is a good thing a lot of the time.right off the bart, you might have alarm bells going,
Almost everything worthwhile in life requires some form of sacrifice.a lot of the time, you’re not going to do whatever the hell you decided is the best thing for you.But you
should never determine the value that something has in your life before you do it.you can use your judgement
we’re talking about doing things that you’ve a;ready determined are good for you and will help you be where you want to be in life.and help you be someone you’re proud of.
AND A lot of the times, even though these things are extremely good for you.before
you do them.you’re gonna have tons of this emotional and physcial resistance in the way of
doing that thing. And a lot of the time, these rationalizations will say stuff like,’you’re getting
burnt out’you need to just take a break today. But in these particular situations, what you’ll
find is that almost 100% of the time,if you just do the thing anyways, you’ll realize that those
rationalizations were bullshit.you’re super tired, you are super stress for work.and you have
this voice in your head saying,No ,,you’re burnt, out, just take a break ,don’t pick up those
sneakers and go for a run.But you do it anyways, you just go and put on your sweet
pants.;you put on your running shoes, and you go for a run anyways.pretty much 100% of
the time, you’ll say, wow,I’m so glad I didn’t listen to that rationalization.i feel invigorated and
proud of myself.because I didn’t fall for that .And on that topic of burnout or feeling
lethargic or depressed,it’s extremely hard to feel that way by consistently taking constructive
action.Far more draining on your will and your existence is the slow creep of existential
dread.as you sit around and do nothing, and let opportunities pass you by.That’s far more
draining on your existence than forcing yourself to go to the gym.even though you’re a little
tried. So use your brain,I’m not saying punish yourself for messing up or make you feet
bleed.and call yourself a bitch if you don’t run 10 miles.and take cold showers in the
morning.or something stupid like that.Obviously you csn take it too far,but it is healthy to
force yourself past the resistance, and the rationalizations holding you back from doing
something that you already know is good for you.AND the final point I want to mention is
that you can make the proccesses work for you. There is a way to make the processes
genuinely more enjoyable, and there’a a lot of methods that you can employ to make this
happen.it’s important to realize that you’re on your own side.you don’t want to punish
yurself for messing up/you don’t want participate in activities that you find absolutely
unenjoyable to your core/there are ways to make these things that are good for you also
feel good in the moment.A really good example of this is I wanted to started doing
deadlifts,but i hate deadlifts.
DO Not be afraid to modify your approach and modify the habit.so that it is something that is more enjoyable to you.And if the process itself is something that you look forward to doing.then I guarantee you.it’ll be no problem sticking with that change for the longterm.so the bottom line is,if you want to substantially your life in one year, take it one habit at a time, figure out why you want to do that habit/and what the end goal of that habit is.Then try to make that habit as enjoyable as possible for yourself/AND once you do that,do it
anyways.regardless of what your rationalizations are.evaluate whether that thing was good
for you after you do it,not before you do it.And you can start compounding this month
after month.once you have one habit locked in after one month, add a new habit the second month,AND by the new end of a year, you might have 12 new habits, which might be overkill
at that point.you might only need a few cornerstone habits, that will change your life
forever.but honestly, over the course of one year, the sky is the limit.you can be in a substantially better place this time next year/if you implement this strategy, combined with
your motivation and will to change/so good luck to all of you guys,no matter whether it’
New Year’s ,or July ,August ,September or whatever.whenever you’re watching this video.this advice applies to you.

I had a coaching client last year, say something that was incredibly wise, when he hired me.and in other words.i took him on as a oaching client ,he said ,the reason that I wanted to be your client is because I want to be where you are in a few years.and I know you did not get there by accident.you design your life.and I thought that was extremely wise and spot-on,becauese the thing is so many of us wake up.when we’re 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 and realized we don’t even know why we got here or how we’re here, and we know for sure that.this is not where I wanted to be/where we wanted to be years and years ago.i want to share my personal process I use for not only scripting the direction of your life, but how I reinvented my own life.and consciously created it from 26 until 30.
the very first part is the design
the second part is the habits you use or doing a daily basis.and the third id the follow through weirther follow-up
how do you actually stay on crack.whenyou get off track.because half of the game of goal achievement is purely when you get ounched in the face, what are you gonna do differently to get back up amd get back in the flight.
there’s almost no consciousness or conscious energy giving me thinking aboutwhat do I want to build in the future.like what consciously and concretely do I want to improve,so for me the way that I do that is first of all,I have a journal, where i’m regularly writing down updates for the kind of life that I want to build.you know it starts with the version, which makes me think of the fact that ,the skyscrapers of New Year started, with a picture in somebody ‘s head.and so did spacehips.and so it in curing a difficult disease.and so when I think of it like that,I always make sure I’m consciously creating even it is just in my thoughts.even if it’s just up there.

let’s roll with it入鄉隨俗
I even think about passion in relationships, but I think what most people seek when thinking about passion.is the answer to the dreadful question.what do I want to do with my life?
I think it’s safe that wanting to construct a life for yourself where you get to spend your time, energy and attention on the things you enjoy is a universal desire. And I also think there’s this innate fear of living ann unfulfilling life, and finding your passion then sounds like the antidote to that, whichw is why the search for it can sometimes become a desperate one.we want to find something worth comtting to.Now,we recently talked about purpose, which is ‘why’,today I’d like to talk about passion, which is the ‘what’,and I’d like to discuss with you,why I think the framing ‘finding the passion’ or’searching for you passion’,which we often see being thrown around is tricky, and perhaps even misleading.i’m going to be talking fromm the perspective of some who has ‘found their passion’,or at least found a passion,I definetely think you can have muiltiple.which is this:creating videos, writing, storytelling, filmmaking, and all the other things that it entails, now,I don’t have all of this figured out by all means .i’m still pondering and wondering, but I’d like to share some of that pondering with you, mainly 3 things that I’ve peronally come to understand, last learn since that I had gotten completely wrong from the beginning…
problem1.passions are formed,not found
as waiting for your dream prince or princess to show up at your door.sure, some people come of the womb singing and continue to sing for the best of their lives, and yes,I do think, that there are some things we’re more inclined to have interest in based on our personality and belief system abd what not,but I think.the general belief that passions are found and not formed can be misleading ,
firstly,I think it’s just frustrating to think that way.i would look at others who seemed to have found their passion and I would think.why I haven’t found mine?!what is wrong with me where is that sucker hiding?
secondly,I think it’s limiting.i think there are a lot of things that I could be doing that could potentially turn into ‘passion’,I’m not limiting myself by believing that there must be certain things I’m meant to be discovering .i prefer to view the world as my playground, and I think having that mindset creates space for opportunies to present themselves.
Thirdly,I have learnedmthat the way to discover or reveal or whatever word you’d like to use.anything,is by actually doing stuff,
you’re more likely to act yourslef into feeling, than feeling yourself into action.
the passion was a by-product of A lot if time, energy, dedication and progress,of building a community.and forming connections and feeling a sense of accountability. Those were some of the building blocks that formed it into a passion.i didn’t find it that way.i think one of the biggest miatakes people make when trying to figure out this passion thing, and I’m definitely guilty of this too,is to just about it.We try to rationalize and figure things out in our head.Clarity doesn’t come from thinking.it comes fromo doing,I’d like to bring up on this point is a quote.
success fuels passion more than passion fuels success.
now the second realistic lesson I would like to talk about is that I had a romanticized idea about what finding your passion was like.
I;ve mentioned all these positive words/and that where I came to this point/which is that I think part of the reason,a lot of people feel confused about their ‘passion’ is because of the way it’s often portrayed in media and films and whatnot.so we may think of the artist who has lost contact with friends.and who sleeps on a mattress in their studio.spending all wake hours dancing around their canvas.and creating painting after painting.fueled by their passion for their art.we may even think of the toxic relatioonships Hollywood loves portraying to us in movies and tv-shows.
we’re brought up on this idea that passion needs to be this intense, obsessive, feeling, and that is desirable, and if it doesn’t feel intense enough, then it’s simply not right, and we should keep looking.so Essentially ,we let our feelings be the sole guide when we are out on our quest to discover our passion. Here’s one of the problems I see with this.so feeling change.we change.and if you ;re only reliant on how you feel about the things that you do.rather than seeing to things like.what am I good at?where lies opportunity?what’s rational for me to do?you’ll likely have difficulty sticking things out.when your feelings aren’t cooperating .Nothing is fun all the time .Nothing is smooth sailing all the time. And it shouldn’t be,SO,viewing passion, that way is to only paint half the picture.personally.
I’m now suffering for something I actually care about, which,I guess to most people,is better than suffering for something you don’t care about.
something like
what determines your success isn’t ‘’what do you want to enjoy?’’ The question is how do you want to suffer.what pain do you want to suffer.
OFTEN TIMES,WE ALREADY KNOW WHAG WE LIKE,WE KNOW WHAT WE TEND TO GRAVITATE towards, what we love talking about, and learning about, and thinkng about.and teaching about,we either a)Don’t take note of it.because we think that nothing great, could possibly be right in front of our eyes, because as humans,we’re inclined to complicate things or b)we’re held back by fear.because we either have limiting beliefs about what’s possible.re we view ourselves as inferior to others,
so much is possible、and, everyone there is a person just like I
so can I ,so xan you

What makes a classic is not that it is praised by critics, expounded by professors and studied in schools, but that large numbers of readers, generation after generation, have found pleasure and spiritual profit in reading it.
一部作品獲得了多少批評家的交口贊譽與課堂里的耐心研究,或者多少學者的講解分析,并不能使它成為經典,只有讀者獲得的樂趣和教益,才是一部作品成為經典的關鍵。
I was writing my album, while I was going through everything. But I don’t think as a person I have what my singing has ,I just think there’s something I’m pulling from somewhere else.ii don’t have something from underneath.it’s coming up through me but it’s not..cause I don’t think I’m that deep in real life.
